Dr. Candace Kwakye DDS, FICOI
Dr. Kwakye is a compassionate dentist dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
Originally from Accra, Ghana, she completed her undergraduate studies at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University. After graduation, she completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry to expand her clinical expertise.
With advanced training in dental implants and sedation dentistry, Dr. Kwakye works to make dental care a positive experience for every patient. She takes pride in creating a calming atmosphere where patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident throughout treatment.
Her favorite part of dentistry is restoring smiles while helping patients build the self-confidence they deserve. Her gentle approach and dedication to clinical excellence support lasting oral health.

Dr. Shelly Somlar
Dr. Somlar is a kind and compassionate general dentist with a passion for delivering the best possible care to her patients.
With a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, she strives to create beautiful, functional smiles. She is particularly dedicated to easing dental anxiety and helping patients feel calm, comfortable, and confident throughout their care.
A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD), Dr. Somlar served on the executive boards of several student groups, including Gamma Pi Delta and the Prosthodontic Honor Society. She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Maryland State Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Somlar enjoys family time, coaching her son’s soccer team, DIY projects, and finding the perfect cup of coffee.
Her favorite dental quote: “You only need to floss the teeth you want to keep.”
